Genesis 25: Abraham's Other Wife and Sons

1 Now Abraham took another wife, whose name was Keturah, 2 and she bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. 3 Jokshan fathered Sheba and Dedan. Dedan's sons were the Asshurim, Letushim, and Leummim. 4 And Midian's sons were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were sons of Keturah. 5 Abraham gave everything he owned to Isaac. 6 And Abraham gave gifts to the sons of his concubines, but while he was still alive he sent them eastward, away from his son Isaac, to the land of the East.
Verse 1 through verse 4 explain how Abraham took another wife, named Keturah, and had six sons by her. Although Abraham was in his old age, he was still fertile, because of the Lord's promise to Abraham. Verse 5 and 6 explain that Abraham set Isaac apart from his other children, for Isaac is the son of promise. Abraham gives Isaac everything, and only gives gifts to the sons of his concubines. And before Abraham died, he made sure to send them away from the land God had promised him, so that Isaac may have it. This shows us that Isaac is a very important person and we will be learning more about him in the Bible.
